Tigerair Taiwan (IT) is a low cost carrier airline flying to international routes. Tigerair Taiwan (IATA Code: IT) is a low-cost carrier (LCC) airline based at Taipei Taoyuan International Airport. On December 16, 2013, when China Airlines Group celebrated its 54th anniversary, and the start of its 55th year, China Airlines chairman Sun Hung-Hsiang announced that the airline will enter the LCC market by investing in a joint venture with Singaporean airline group Tigerair Holdings to set up Tigerair Taiwan. As part of the deal, China Airlines held 80 percent of the share while Budget Aviation Holdings and Mandarin Airlines each held 10 percent. In 2017, as Tigerair Singapore merged into Scoot, CAPA reported that China Airlines had purchased Budget Aviation Holdings' 10% stake, leaving China Airlines and its subsidiary Mandarin Airlines as joint owners of the airline.

Baggage

Tigerair Taiwan offers three types of seats that the passengers can choose from when they fly with this airline, there are: a. Tigercomfort This seats at Rows 1, 12, 13 are more spacious, offering added leg rooms to you. b. Tigerquicker This seats at Rows 2-4 facilitate you to promptly find your seats after boarding and leave the cabin promptly upon arrival at the destination. c. Tigerbuddy This seats at Rows 5-11, and Rows 14-30. All passengers are automatically allocated this seat. So, if you intend to be seated with your family or friend(s) or if you intend to be seated by window or by aisle, please be smart enough to choose standards seats and pick up your preferred seats. Seats on Rows 11 and 30 are close to the emergency exit and are, as a result, not inclinable for the backrests. Please see below table for the fee of seat selection: Attention： - The online seat preselection function is not available until four (4) hours minimum prior to scheduled takeoff of your flight. - The seat preselection fare is charged for each and every flight. In a round-trip, each passenger shall be charged for seat preselection for every flight segment. - The seat preselection fare is non-refundable after your reconfirmation of your flight reservation. - For safety reasons, passengers with infants can only sit in designated seats. Three consecutive seats in the same row on the same side are only available to one passenger traveling with an infant. Passengers traveling with two or more infants must select different rows or seats on the row separated by the aisle. In the case of two or more infants sitting in the same three-seat row, the cabin crew has the right to request that one of the passenger with infant sit on another row. If you or members of your group are assigned different seats for safety reasons, seat reservation fees will not be reimbursed.

Web Check-in

Passengers departing from Taoyuan International Airport will be able to check-in online using the Tigerair Taiwan official website 2.5~48 hours before their departure time. After checking in, passengers may proceed to collect their boarding passes and check in their luggage at the "checked in counter" to reduce the time spent queuing and to expedite the check-in process.

Airport Check-in

The airport counters are open for check-in process 2.5 hours prior to scheduled takeoff and are closed 45 minutes prior to scheduled takeoff. You should get to the boarding gate at least 30 minutes prior to scheduled takeoff. The boarding gate is closed 10 minutes before scheduled takeoff. A belated passenger shall be denied from boarding while his or her luggage shall be unshipped for which Tigerair Taiwan grants not any compensation.

Kiosk Check-in

Tigerair Taiwan let you use kiosk check-in services for the passengers, that may be accessed at the departure airport depending on the availability. For further information on this service, contact the airline customer service call center. The check in time is 180 hours prior to the scheduled departure time.

App Check-in

Check in through the airline’s official mobile (Android/iOS) application is possible. To do this, the passengers should download the Tigerair Taiwan mobile application on their gadget. The check in time is 48 hours before the scheduled flight departure time.
