Introduction

Batik Air (ID) is a full flight airline operating domestic and international routes. The airline provides the passenger with a cabin baggage allowance of 7 kg and maximum dimension of 30 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm (L x W x H). The international route ticket fare includes checked baggage allowance of 20 kg while the domestic route ticket fare includes free checked baggage allowance of 20 kg. Check in time at the airport starts from 180 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. Online check in is possible for flights on Batik Air official website page. Company Profile

As one of Lion Air’s child company, the owner of Batik Air is also Rudi Kirana. It was created as a full-service airline which began operating in May 2013. The IATA and ICAO code for this airline company is ID and BTK respectively. Batik Air’s fleet is composed of 46 airplanes, some of which are Airbus A320 and others Boeing 737-800/900 with around 200 flights per day serving both domestic and international airports in 44 destinations. Their head office is located in Jakarta, at the Lion Air Tower, West Jakarta. However, they also have representative offices all over Indonesia including in the International Airport Ngurah Rai Bali and 61 Stamford Road in Singapore. In all the flights with Batik Air, it provides personal television and in-flight entertainment system for every passenger. Light snacks and free meals add to the comfort, with 32 inches of seat pitches for the Economy class and 45 inches for the business class. Although at first the fleet was only composed of Boeing 737-800/900ER, right now Batik Air has 41 Airbus A320-200 and is in the process of acquiring more airplanes from both the A320NEO and A321 series.

History

Batik Air is an Indonesian airline which commenced its first commercial flight on 3 May 2013 flying from Jakarta at 10am local time to Manado at 02.00pm local time. As of January 2014, Batik Air has operated six Boeing 737-900ERs and served routes to: Jakarta, Denpasar, Yogyakarta, Semarang, Balikpapan, Manado, Pekanbaru, Ambon and Jayapura.

Flight Attendant

The uniform for Batik Air flight attendants is a set of white kebaya top and a straight long skirt. True to its name, the skirt is covered in a fabric and pattern called batik.

Web Check-in

Airport Check-in

Airport check in can be done in the Batik Air check-in counters 180 minutes before the scheduled flight departure time. You are advised to check in at least one and a half hours before the check in and baggage drop counter at the airport closes.

Kiosk Check-in

Batik Air let you use kiosk check-in services for the passengers, that may be accessed at the departure city airport depending on the availability. For more information on this service, contact the airline customer service. The check in time is 120 hours prior to the scheduled departure time.

App Check-in

App check-in through the airline’s official mobile (Android/iOS) app is possible. To do so, download the Batik Air mobile application on their mobile. The check in time is 12 hours before the departure time.
